This program is NOT a first come, first serve program.
Global Risk Solutions, under the auspices of St. Bernard Parish Government, is mailing information to the interested adjacent property owners (that is, next door to and on the same street). Contact letters from Global Risk Solutions will be sent via U. S. postal service, by geographical areas, to individuals concerning the purchase of the Lot Next Door. If you don't receive a letter early in the process, please be patient. Initial Contact Letter are being mailed daily to locations throughout St. Bernard Parish.
When you receive a letter please read and respond, whether you are interested or not interested in the purchase of a LLT property.
Potential purchaser(s) will have 30 days to inform Global Risk Solutions of their interest in the Lot Next Door program.
If you are NOT INTERESTED in the program please return the postage-paid card that was included with the letter we sent to you.
Once interested individuals submit their letters to the Lot Next Door program, the lots will be appraised and the owners of homestead exempt properties next to the LLT properties will have the first chance to purchase the properties. After the appraisal the potential purchaser will be informed of the purchase price and later be contacted to sign the purchase agreement, and arrange for a property closing.
Generally the program steps include:
- You complete and return the forms in the Initial Contact Letter
- LND program determines eligibility of interested parties
- Interested and eligible parties provide $250 application fee and obtain appraisal of LLT property
- Purchase price is determined and Purchase Agreement is signed
- Documents forwarded to Closing Agents
